The Senior Games have become a true celebration of the human spirit. More than just friendly competition, the games offer participants and volunteers alike a chance to showcase their talents, stay active, rediscover old passions, and explore new interests.
Participants compete in a wide range of athletic and artistic events, from golf, cycling, and swimming to painting, writing, and performing arts. Athletic events including running, bowling, pickleball, tennis, and badminton — alongside Silver Arts categories including poetry, dance, comedy, visual arts, photography, sculpture, and music — there's truly something for everyone to enjoy. Our local games are sanctioned by North Carolina Senior Games, allowing participants to qualify for the NC State Finals.
For over 35 years, North Carolina Senior Games has embodied a mission that promotes health and wellness for ALL persons 50 and better across our state. Through a philosophy that strives to keep ALL seniors healthy, active, and involved, our work remains dedicated to UNITING older athletes and SilverArtists in a program that recognizes and enhances the values of discipline, dedication, and pride in one’s accomplishments and those of our fellow competitors.
Through Local Games in all 100 counties of our state, we are a community that embraces the diversity and cultures of our citizens and strongly denounces any forces, words, or actions that would harm or discriminate against people based on race.
Our PEOPLE are the "Spirit of Senior Games".
